Gary Menges was the former head of University of Washington Special Collections and chair of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) manuscripts and rare books section and eventually took a position as the Preservation Administrator at the University of Washington Libraries.

Scope and Content: Photographs and corresponding negatives depicting shoppers, vendors and streets at Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington made by Gary Menges.
These photographs of Pike Place Market were taken for the 3rd Association of College and Research Libraries National Conference that was held in Seattle April 1984. Some of them may have been published in that year's ACRL journal.
