Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Thomas L. Bosworth (born 1930) is an architect and architectural educator. He studied at the Yale architectural school and graduated in 1960. He spent four years working for Eero Saarinen and then joined the faculty of the Rhode Island School of Design in 1964. Two years later, he moved to the Pacific Northwest. Bosworth came to the University of Washington in 1968 to serve as the chair of the School of Architecture. He served as chair until 1972 and then as a professor of architecture until his retirement in 2003. He is best known for structures at the Pilchuck Glass School between 1971 and 1986. He was commissioned by John and Anne Gould Hauberg to create the buildings for the school. Most of his work over his career has been residential. Between 1980 and 2004 he designed around 60 houses. Bosworth was elected a Fellow in the American Institute of Architects in 1979 and has won a number of design awards over his career.
