Historical NoteReturn to Top

A Bachelor of Science in Biology was introduced in 1966-1967 as a coordinated effort by the departments of Botany and Zoology, overseen by the Office of Biology Education. The University of Washington Department of Biology was formed by the merger of Botany, Zoology, and the undergraduate Biology program in 2003.

Materials include curriculum materials (1968-1987) for Biology 101, 102, 210, 211, 212, lecture notes, some written by professors and others taken by ASUW notetakers; laboratory notebooks; examinations; and course handouts. Also included are a few audiocassettes of lectures and a computer diskette relating to class assignments.

Materials relating to the Office of Biology Education, including annual reports and a history of the office.

Historical materials include important faculty, early coursework and publications, and photographs for Biology, Botany, and Zoology. Also included are Biology faculty meeting agendas, minutes, and notes.
