Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Otto Jorgensen was born to Jorgen and Kristiane Jorgensen on October 5, 1895 in Waupaca, Wisconsin. The family moved to Dagmar, Montana, around 1907. Otto Jorgensen was drafted into the Army in 1917 and sent to France where he was wounded in the leg. He returned to Dagmar in 1919 and became an electrician.

This collection consists of copies of a 1918 letter that Otto Jorgensen wrote to his sister, Marie, while he was serving in France near the end of World War I, and his reminiscence of his boyhood on a homestead in northeastern Montana.
