Historical Note

In 1995, Catherine and K. Johnson Knowles, along with their son Colin, inherited around 14,000 postcards from Mr. Knowles' mother, Joann Baxter Zeisel. Ms. Zeisel's mother and grandmother had originally collected them during their travels. About 10 years later, Mrs. Knowles decided to donate the postcards to public libraries, colleges, museums, and historical societies all over the United States. This collection is all those from Idaho, Washington and Oregon.
