This collection consists of a single item, a letter from Will R. Wood, a soldier in Company B, First Washington Volunteers, addressed to Grace (last name not given). The letter was written throughout the month of November 1898, in diary form, relating Wood's experiences on his way to the Philippines during the Spanish-American War. Most of the entries were written at sea on the steamer Ohio during the company's journey from Hawaii to Manila Bay.
