Historical Note
Professor of electrical engineering, University of Washington, and author. Arthur Harrison was a professor of electrical engineering from 1949-1976. During the late 1940s he became interested in the study of glaciers and since that time has documented the growth and expansion of the Nesqually Glacier on Mt. Rainier, and the Coleman-Roosevelt Glacier on Mr. Baker. Professor Harrison was also active in the Mountaineers and the Sierra Club, Pacific Northwest Chapter. Arthur E. Harrison died in Seattle on May 20, 1976.
Content Description
Glacier studies predominantly of Muldrow Glacier (Mount McKinley, Alaska), Coleman Glacier (Mount Baker), Nisqually Glacier (Mount Rainier), but also including various other sites in Washington, Oregon, California, Nepal, and Mexico. Aerial as well as historical sequences from circa 1900 to the 1970s.

Processing Note
Minimally processed. Box 11 had broken glass plate negatives that were discarded. Boxes 13-16 are original negatives that were removed from copy negative files.
These materials were transferred from the Arthur E. Harrison Papers, Mss. Acc. No. 2373-002 in the repository, in 1984.
