Historical Note

Barbara L. Cubin was born in San Benito, California, on November 30, 1946. She graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper, Wyoming, and, in 1969, received a B.S. degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She was a Republican member of the Wyoming State House of Representatives from 1987 to 1991, a member of the Wyoming State Senate from 1992 to 1994, and a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2009. She was not a candidate for reelection to the 111th Congress in 2008.

The collection consists of materials from Cubin's seven terms in the U.S. House of Representatives. They include subject files collected by Cubin's office and files related to the committees on which she served. Also included are correspondence and files related to constituents for whom Cubin provided services, as well as files related to her election and subsequent reelection campaigns to the U.S. House.
