George Turner was an attorney, judge, diplomat, and United States Senator from Washington State. He practiced law in Mobile, Alabama and in Spokane, Washington beginning in 1869. He was elected to Congress and served as a Democratic Senator from 1897 to 1903.

This collection consists of scrapbooks kept by George Turner, containing newspaper clippings, speeches, photographs, and other memorabilia documenting significant events in his legal and political career, as well as autograph letters of British and American politicians. This collection also includes scrapbooks kept by George Turner's wife, Bertha Turner, with photographs, calling cards, correspondence, and other memorabilia relating to their political and personal lives.
