Historical Note
Washington Water Power Company, an investor-owned electric utility company based in Spokane, Washington, was founded 1889. In addition to its primary business as a public utility, Washington Water Power also operated other business enterprises in Spokane, including streetcar lines and Natatorium Park, a public amusement park. Effective in 1999, the company name was changed to Avista Corporation.

This collection contains 33 items related to the Huntington family, primarily related to David Lynde Huntington (1870-1929) and his wife, Helen Longacre Huntington. Included are correspondence, diplomas, certificates, a family tree, a typescript entitled "Hydro-electric Power and Western Agriculture", and other items. Many items are related to David Huntington's tenure as president of Washington Water Power Company in Spokane, Washington (1910-1929).
