Biographical Note

Earl C. McComb (1893-1967) was an engraver who was employed by the Seattle Star for 31 years. He and his wife, Alice, had a daughter, Edith McComb, who died at 23 in 1943, another daughter, June (born June 8, 1918), and a son, Earl (1929-1956). Earl's father, Charles McComb (1850-1949), came to Seattle in 1872 and owned a cabinet shop on Seventh Ave and Virginia at the time of the Seattle Fire. The family had a long history of living in the Queen Anne area of Seattle.
