Historical NoteReturn to Top
Florence Louise Dimm was born in Denver, Colorado on October 4, 1902. She married Ralph D. Cowan on June 17, 1933 and had three children-- Bruce, Roger and Donald. The family lived in Colorado until 1948, when Ralph accepted a job at First Security Trust in Salt Lake City. Florence Cowan died three years later, September 6, 1951, at the age of 48 of Hodgkin's disease.

The Ralph Dudley and Florence Louise Dimm Cowan family papers (1894-1948) contain seven handwritten diaries of Florence Cowan (1902-1951) chronicling the home life of the Cowans and their three sons, Bruce, Roger, and Donald. Also included are transcribed excerpts of the diary of Metilda Leisenring Dimm.
