Grace Guile Purse was a physician in Washington, D.C. early in the twentieth century. In 1920 she began research on her family's genealogy. She pursued this genealogical information in an effort to join the Daughters of the American Revolution. This collection consists of genealogical information collected by Dr. Grace Purse. The collection includes correspondence and documents about the Guile and Wishard families. Most notable in the collection is a diary by Molly Guile that describes her family's overland journey from Missouri to Montana in 1869.

This collection consists of genealogical information collected by Dr. Grace Purse. The collection includes correspondence and documents about the Guile and Wishard families. Most notable in the collection is a diary by Molly Guile that describes her family's overland journey from Missouri to Montana in 1869.
Two maps of the Portland, Oregon area, one dated 1908, were removed to the map library. In addition, three small photographs of an unidentified woman were removed to the Photograph Collection of Special Collections. One broadside advertises a concert with Miss Grace Guile, soprano.
