Independent Order of Odd Fellows Grand Lodge of Utah records, circa 1870-1970

The Independent Order of Odd Fellows Grand Lodge of Utah records have not been subjected to extensive processing. The materials have been loosely organized into three groups. The first group, consisting of a variety of ledgers, is housed in boxes 1-30. Both minute books and financial/membership ledgers are present. The ledgers have been organized by lodge, and the boxes each hold between one and thirty books. Ledgers relating to unidentified lodges are grouped by data type in boxes 24-29 of this group. Box 30 holds two library inventories for an unidentified lodge. Documents comprise the next group of materials, in boxes 31-43. These documents are not organized in any way, but apparently relate to the various lodges represented by the ledgers in the preceding group and consists of correspondence, membership certificates, and other items. The last group in the collection, contained in boxes 43-51, holds general materials. Bound conference proceedings and other published items are held in box 43; general ledgers and receipt books are held in boxes 44-45; a ceremonial candle holder is in the Odd Fellows: the Imperial Order of the Red Men, the Knights of Pythias, and the Woodmen of the World. Box 47 also holds empty, pre-labeled folders intended for future processing of the material.
