Historical Note

Reba Lou Keele (b. 1941) was born in Emery, Utah, on 28 April 1941. She received her Associates degree from the College of Eastern Utah in 1961. She Received her B.A. Degree in Speech and Drama in 1963 and her M.A. Degree in Rhetoric and Public Address in 1966 from Brigham Young University. She went on to receive her Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Public Address and Educationial Psychology in 1974 from Purdue University. She went on an LDS Mission to France in 1965 and went on to marry T. Lee Burnham in 1968. In addition to becoming the Director for the Center for Women's Health at the Cottonwood Hospital Medical Center from 1984 to 1985, Mrs. Keele became a professor at the two largest universities in Utah. She taught Organizational Behavior at Brigham Young University from 1978 to 1991 and became the Dean of Undergraduate Education at the University of Utah from 1991 to 1996. She also taught as a professor of Management at the University of Utah. In addition to teaching she has also published articles, books, and research on topics regarding women, gender, and leadership.
