The items in this collection are organized by source: Hunt collection, Brewster collection, and U.S. Treasury Department collection.
The Washington State University Libraries received these materials as gifts from three separate sources: Mr. and Mrs. Hal Hunt (date of gift unknown), Professor C. M. Brewster (1960), both originally cataloged as VF 385; and the United States Treasury Department (1912-1913), originally cataloged as VF 386. The three collections were merged and reprocessed in 2010.
Currency specimens are available in other collections held in MASC, including:
Ed Carver currency collection, 1885-1922 (Cage 1916).
Tannatt family currency, scrip, and bond collection, circa 1839-1864 (Cage 4977).
Paul Philemon Kies Currency and Bond Collection (Cage 4978).
William Band papers, 1857-1989 (Ephemera series) (Cage 617).
