Jaqueline Packard was an undergraduate at the State College of Washington in the mid-1930s. Beginning in 1937, she pursued a master's of science degree in botany at the State College. Much of this collection surrounds her thesis project: A Sketch of the Vascular Flora of the Seven Devils Mountains, Idaho County, Idaho. Moore never completed her M.S. degree. She married William Rice Moore, a 1939 WSC graduate in forestry. The Moores shortly moved to Texas.
