Historical NoteReturn to Top

Books Mercaz, a Jewish bookstore in Seattle, was designed to be a meeting place for unaffiliated members of the Jewish community, as well as an outlet for books and gifts of Jewish interest. Original planning was under the auspices of the National Council of Jewish Women, but the store soon became an independent entity. It opened in 1983 but failed to make a profit and closed in 1985.
