Historical NoteReturn to Top
Construction of Sue Lombard Hall, on the campus of Central Washington University, began in 1925 and was completed in December of 1926. The women’s dormitory was named after Sue Lombard Horsely, who had been a member of the school’s Board of Trustees from 1915 to 1928. In 2004, a major renovation project was initiated that modernized the building. The project was completed in October of 2005. Currently, the dorm houses honors students in education, music, and natural sciences.

The scrapbooks in this collection include lists of office holders, programs, and announcements of events and activities sponsored by Sue Lombard Hall at Central Washington State College (predecessor to Central Washington University).
Historical BackgroundReturn to Top
Central Washington University began as the Washington State Normal School in 1891. In 1937, the school was rechristened the Central Washington College of Education. In 1961, the school became Central Washington State College and, finally, in 1977, Central Washington University.
