This collection contains the professional papers of E. Roy Mundy, member of the Washington State House of Representatives for District 13 between 1953 and 1963. E. Roy Mundy (1912-1989) was born in Abbeville, South Carolina, to W. H. Mundy and Ada Lee McKinney. He moved to the Pacific Northwest as a teenager, where he graduated from Roosevelt High School in Seattle and completed several quarters at the University of Washington. Following the construction of Grand Coulee Dam, Mundy became the owner and manager of the Grand Coulee Dam Credit Bureau, and acted as the City Treasurer of Grand Coulee in 1939. After his military service during World War II, Mundy became the Clerk of Grant County until he was elected to the Washington State House of Representatives for District 13 in 1952. He served as a state representative from 1953 to 1963, during which time he held the positions of Chairman of the Reclamation, Conservation, and Waterways Committee, as well as Chairman of the Fourth Congressional District Democratic Council. While a state representative, Mundy also became the owner and operator of Mundy Realty in Ephrata, Washington, and married Marjorie Virginia Pearson in 1956.
