Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Robert W. Shields was a schoolteacher, businessman, and minister of the First Congregational Church in Dayton, Washington. He kept a diary of his life from 1970 to 1997, recording daily 4000 words of every action, deed, opinion, and thought. The diary ends in 1997, when he suffered a stroke. (Source: Robert and Grace Shields Library Endowment agreement, 1999)

Robert Shields died in 2007.
