Eleanor Long was a school teacher who lived in Marcola, Oregon.

The collection consists of correspondence, greeting cards, and financial materials. Some damaged materials from each series were removed to a separate box.

Correspondence is devided into outgoing and incoming letters. Outgoing letters date from 1932 and 1934, and are all addressed to Long's sister, Avon Derrick. Incoming letters date from 1939 to 1953. Major correspondents include Hubert Derrick (Long's brother), Georgia Graham, Letha Lunceford, and Neva Workman, among others.

Greeting cards include Christmas cards (1943-1956), birthday cards (1946-1952), and some miscellaneous cards.

Financial materials consist of bank statements, checks, and receipts.

The damaged materials include corrsepondence and greeting cards that were water damaged at some point. A folder containing four pressed flowers was removed because of this damage.
