Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Asa Wayne Arrington was born on May 10, 1925 in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Noah and Edna Arrington. He was the brother of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints historian and economist Leonard J. Arrington. He served on the USS Currier, a destroyer escort, during World War II. Items he collected concerning his service on the destroyer can be viewed at the East Carolina University Joyner Library, Asa Wayne Arrington Papers, 1943–2004, Manuscript Collection #849.

This collection contains family correspondence, articles about Leonard J. Arrington, programs from James Arrington's plays, articles about James Arrington, articles and drawings by Carl Arrington, and a book of reminisces of his life by Wayne Arrington. It also contains Wayne's high school diploma, military documents, Utah State Agricultural College grades and diploma, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints mission documents from North Carolina, articles about siblings, the book Arrington Family History, family history documents of the Arringtons, maps of North Carolina, and a scrapbook including family photos.
