The collection also contains investigative reports and ledgers of the railroad including accidents, injuries, cattle problems, and other events. Also included are General Insurance Schedules which ensured property from loss or damage by fire.

Personal injury claims ledgers
These 3 ledgers contain more than 11,000 manuscript claims and covers 26 years of D&RGRR operations in Utah. Each property claims ledger has printed columns with headline subjects: Division [SL]; Date; Engine Number; Train Number; Name of Person; Age; Occupation; Residence; Place of Accident; Nature of Injury; How Inflicted; Disabled from Duty; Amount Paid; Date Paid; Date of Release; Date of Voucher; Time of Accident; Remarks. The claims cover everything from broken toes to fatalities in the Utah Division.

Property claims ledgers
These 6 ledgers contain almost 15,000 manuscript claims and cover 65 years (with only a handful of gaps) of D&RGRR operations in Utah. Each property claims ledger has printed columns with headline subjects: Date; Engine; Train; Engineer or Conductor; Location; Nature of Accident; Brands or Marks; Claimant; [Money] Claimed; [Money] Paid; Papers to; Remarks. The majority of the claims are for losses of cattle, horses, vehicle damage and field (usually from crop fires) for the Utah division.
