The Cabin incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1996. Their mission is to inspire and celebrate a love of reading, writing and discourse. The Cabin annually serves about 500 member households, more than 2,000 children and youth, and more than 16,000 people through educational and cultural programs. Activities and programs include: Writers in the Schools (WITS), Summer Writing Camps, Workshops and classes, Writers in the Attic (WITA), Readings & Conversations, and other literary activities. The Cabin’s administrative offices are housed in our restored log cabin, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
