Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Charles Griffith Bratt joined the Music Department of Boise Junior College in 1946. A graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Bratt was an accomplished organist and composer. He assisted in persuading Boise philanthropist Laura Moore Cunningham to donate a $40,000 pipe organ to Boise Junior College in 1953. His weekly organ concerts were broadcast to the community on the radio. While chairman of the Music Department, Bratt frequently took his students "on the road." His students performed for private and civic organizations throughout the valley. Bratt was named composer-in-residence at Boise State College (now Boise State University) in 1970. He retired from teaching in 1976.
