Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Gloria Pederson was the daughter of German immigrants; however, after her marriage to Norwegian immigrant and PLU Professor, Arne Pederson, Gloria was best known for her contributions to promoting Scandinavian culture through selling popular and traditional Scandinavian ware and running a museum in the back of her giftshop. She is also remembered for making 27 bunads herself, representing different Norwegian regions; conducting classes in the Norwegian language; and Norwegian cooking classes. She met King Olav V when he visited PLU in 1975.
