Historical BackgroundReturn to Top
The Twisp Administrative Site consists of 17 buildings and is located off of Highway 20 within the town of Twisp, Washington. In 2006, the Methow Valley Ranger District of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest proposed to sell the site; however, it was determined that five of the site's buildings were eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. Four of the five buildings were Depression-era buildings: the Office, the Assistant Ranger Residence, the Ranger Residence, and a Warehouse. The fifth building was built as a residence in the 1950s. The four Depression-era buildings were constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps.
