Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Dwight William Jensen was born in Malad, Idaho, in 1934. He received a bachelor's degree from Idaho State University and worked as a writer and journalist for both the print and broadcast media. In addition to the above books, Jensen was the author of Visiting Boise: A Personal Guide (Caxton, 1981). Additional biographical information can be found on page 320 of the typescript for There Will Be a Road (Box 1, Folder 11). Jensen died in 2006.

This collection consists of typescripts of two books by Dwight William Jensen, Discovering Idaho (Caxton, 1977) and There Will Be a Road (Doubleday, 1978), along with galley proofs of There Will Be a Road. Discovering Idaho is a history book for elementary students, widely used in the Idaho public schools; There Will Be a Road is a novel set in the Idaho mountains.
