Historical BackgroundReturn to Top
Blaine, Washington, is situated just below the Canadian border in Whatcom County. The first school district was established in Blaine in 1885. The high school began a site-expansion program in the late 1930s, and the next decades saw multiple building projects, beginning with the Vocational Training Building in 1940.

Typed on cover page: "Blaine, Wash. Sept. 6th, 1940. The following
views taken at different times show interesting views of the new Vocational
Training Building, an important addition to the Blaine High School. The
building, now completed, to be dedicated tonight 66x144 feet in size is, I am
told, one of the best in the state. Horace G. Clark."
