Historical NoteReturn to Top
William G. Watson vas a soldier in the 77th Reg., Nev York State Volunteers, Co. C. during the Civil War. He was from North Greenwich, New York. Watson worked primarily as an assistant Ward Master in the Annapolis Junction Army Hospital in Maryland until October of 1863. From November of 1863 to the end of December, which is where this account ends, he was working in the Davis (or Davids) Island Hospital near New York City. His diaries describe the daily routine of non-combat army life during the Civil War.
