Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Blanche Gordon Narodick received her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington in 1930, where she was also inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She received a Masters degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and earned membership in Theta Sigma Phi, the journalism honorary society. Narodick has served in various leadership positions on numerous boards and committees, the most prominent being President of Women in Communications; Chair of the Board, Florence Crittenton Home; Chair, International Services Committee, American Red Cross, Seattle; Chair, Council of Social Agencies, King County; and Chair, Advisory Committee, Washington Athletic Club. Narodick has also received several honors for her work, including the American Red Cross' highest volunteer recognition, the Harriman Award. The Kline-Galland Home recognized her public relations contributions to its fundraising campaigns with a special award. She married Phillip H. Narodick.
