Historical NoteReturn to Top
John I. Haas started his company in 1914 and opened Yakima Golding Farms in 1931 in an effort to improve the quality of hop farming. After the repeal of Prohibition in 1933, his company became the largest private hop enterprise with approximately 4,000 acres of farms in the United States and British Columbia. In 1978, the company merged with Joh. Barth & Sohn and became Barth-Haas Group
