Dr. Charles G. Stipp (1917-2012) was an obstetrician and a professor at the University of Washington. He co-founded Seattle Women's Clinic with Dr. R. Philip Smith and was an obstetrician-gynecologist for 38 years, delivering over 3000 babies in the Seattle area. At Swedish Hospital, he headed the OB Department and served as Chief of Staff. He was a clinical professor at the University of Washington, a diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, member of the Seattle Gynecology Society (president, 1964), member of Pacific Northwest Gynecology Association (president, 1969), and a member of the Pacific Coast Obstetrical Society. He co-founded S&S Enterprises, an education film company, with Philip Smith in 1952, and won a Silver Medal at the Cortina, Italy International Film Festival for his film Gossip Goes to Honolulu. He produced many films to teach medical procedures, and has five films in the Library of Congress, and many local films at the Museum of History and Industry. He filmed the first Gold Cup hydroplane boat race when Stan Sayres brought the Cup to Seattle.
