Biographical NoteReturn to Top
John Richard Huber was born in Dayton, Ohio on February 8, 1909. He recieved his A.B. from the College of Wooster in 1931, and his M.A. (1933) and PhD (1937) from Princeton University. He was a Professor of Economics at Emory University from 1934-39 and at the University of Washington since 1939. Between 1941-45 he was an economist and intelligence officer for the OSS, between 1949-51 he was an economic consultant to the Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in Japan, between 1955-56 he was a Fulbright Professor at Nagoya University, and between 1961-63 he was chief ecomonic advisor with R.R. Nathan Associates advising the government of Afghanistan.
