Archives West Finding Aid

These photographs were collected by Jane Clark of the Western Washington University Bureau for Faculty Research. Some of the photographs pertain to commercial fishing (including boats and fish traps), many of which were taken by Wilbur Sandison, circa 1909. The bulk of the photographs document leisure boating activities (including pleasure boats, sailing yachts, and racing speedboats) with the shores of the Puget Sound in the background. The pleasure boat "Welcome" is well represented in these records. There are also images of the Inner Victoria Harbor, the British Columbia Parliament Buildings, the Victoria Empress Hotel, and offshore of Luna Park in West Seattle.
