Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Born 1874, died 1961. Businessman of Seattle, Washington. Henry Doyle was an official of the Bristish Columbia Packers Association, and a writer on the subject of the salmon fishery, particularly that of British Columbia. His involvement in the Pacific salmon fishery began in 1901, and for the next two decades he was a strong leader and keen observer in the industry. His unpublished manuscript is the "Rise and Decline of the Pacific Salmon Fisheries," 1905.

Correspondence, documents, typescript, 17 volumes of scrapbooks collected by Doyle regarding the British Columbia salmon fishery; 1877-1935.
The scrapbooks on fisheries include documents and manuscript items and annotations as well as clippings covering the years 1877-1935. The documents and letters compiled by Doyle covering the years 1909-1930 are in a separate volume. The typescript of "Pacific Salmon" is found in Box 9. It is also available on microfilm.
