Biographical Note
Ortman was a member of such groups as Friends of the Earth, Global Economy Working Group and US NGO Working Group on APEC which protest issues such as fast track negotiating authority for the U.S. President and the World Trade Organization.
Content Description
Printed e-mail messages, agendas, clippings, and ephemera on effects of global trade on the environment. Accumulated by Ortman after he left the staff of Friends of the Earth. The accession includes material on environmentalists' response to APEC, but the bulk of the accession documents the WTO teach-ins and protests in late 1999.
