Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Sabri Khan (1927-2015) was an award-winning sarangi player from Moradabad, India. His grandfather, father, and uncle were all accomplished sarangi players and contributed to his learning. Throughout his career, Sabri Khan performed around the world and was credited with introducing Sarangi to American and European audiences. He was also invited to be a visiting professor at the University of Washington, United States. During his lifetime, he earned a variety of awards, including the Padma Bhushan Award in 2006, which was presented by the President of India.
