Professor of nuclear physics, University of Washington.

John Sanborn Blair born 1923, and educated in Madison, Wisconsin. Professor Blair was an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin, but completed his B.S. at Yale in 1943. He earned both his M.S., 1949, and Ph.D., 1951, from the University of Illinois where he studied under Sidney Damcoff. He joined the Physics Department of the University of Washington in 1952, serving until his death in September 1982. Blair was a member of the Division of Nuclear Physics, American Physical Society, and consulted with U.S. National Bureau of Standards.
