Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Florence Luella Cowdery was born in Sandusky, Ohio on March 3, 1862 and by 1900 had moved to Washington with family members. She worked both as a dressmaker and as as a Fort Steilacoom Asylum hospital attendent, living in Steilacoom, Tenino and Rainier, Washington. She died July 3rd, 1947 and her ashes were buried in the Rainier Cemetery, next to her older sister Susan.
