Historical NoteReturn to Top

Associated Women Students of Central Washington State College began as the Women’s League in 1931. The organization originally served as a women’s group that sponsored social functions on campus, such as welcoming teas for incoming freshmen, weekend outings and annual balls. In 1940, the League became affiliated with the national Associated Women Students organization and expanded its role to coordinate all women student groups on campus and “further the interests of all girls.” By the early 1970s the organization lost membership and was dissolved.
