Historical NoteReturn to Top

Fuyo Kai was a pre-World War II University of Washington campus organization for women students of Japanese ancestry. The group was formed in 1925 when the Japanese Progressive Women's Club was disbanded. Fuyo Kai was disbanded because of the evacuation of Japanese due to Executive Order 9066 in 1942. Valeda was a successor organization.
