Historical NoteReturn to Top
Sarah Studevant Leavitt was born approximately 4 October 1798 to Lemuel Studevant and Priscilla Tompson in Lime, Grafton County, New Hampshire. She married Jeremiah Leavitt 6 March 1817 in Vermont and then moved with him to Canada. Sarah and her family were later converted to Mormonism. They moved to Kirtland, Ohio, and then to Nauvoo. Her husband died at Mt. Pisgah in 1846. She moved on to Utah, settling in Tooele. Sarah left Tooele due to Indians stealing cattle. Her history does not record where she next moved.
