George Blankenship was an Olympia pioneer who participated in a campaign during the Indian wars in 1855 and helped build a trail beyond Longmire along Nisqually River in 1865. For more information see reminiscence of his companion, D.C. Betty, during the Indian Wars in Blankenship's early history of Thurston County, Washington, 1914, P. 85-88.
