Sportsman, activist, conservationist, journalist of Washington.

Kenneth McLeod, 1898-1987, was a sports editor, fly fisherman, Secretary of the Salmon Conservation League, Washington State Sportsmen's Council, President of the Steelhead Trout Club of Washington, Washington Director of the Interstate Congress for Equal Rights and Responsibilities, member of the Steelhead/Salmon Protective Agency and Wildlife Network (S/SPAWN), and the King County Outdoor Sports Council. S/SPAWN was a coalition of sportsmen's organizations which sponsored Initiative 456 in 1984 to designate the steelhead trout a national game fish. McLeod was an outspoken critic of the Boldt decision on Indian fishing rights. He commented on behalf of the WSSSC on settlement plans proposed by the Federal Task Force on Washington State Fisheries, circa 1977-78.
