Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Pathologist and chair of the UW Pathology Department 1957-1986. He specialized in molecular pathology, with major work on amyloidosis, atherosclerosis, ageing, and cell injury. He published over 250 articles on a wide range of topics and was active in research as a Professor Emeritus. He worked on many committees and was elected a member of the National Academy of Sciences in 1976.

The papers represent Dr. Benditt's entire career as a molecular pathologist, but also include papers from his earlier work at University of Chicago.
