Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Pui-Yuen Lui is a pipa player from Shanghai, People's Republic of China. He is brother to Tsun-Yuen Lui, also a pipa player as well as a composer and teacher of Chinese classical music. In 1967, the two brothers toured Japan, Hawaii, Taiwan, and Hong Kong together, promoting and performing Chinese classical music. Lui has written and recorded new music for the pipa resulting in several albums.
