The Patricia C. Albers postcard collection consists of postcards collected by Dr. Albers, predominantly of Native Americans. Some were used, i.e. written on, stamped, and mailed. Others have obviously never been used.

Arrangement
Boxes 1 and 2 are arranged alphabetically by name of tribe, state, or country. Box 3 contains postcards of the Navajo and Pueblo peoples, due to the large number of cards from these two groups. Postcards showing the Navajo are arranged alphabetically by subject. The Pueblo postcards are in two sections: alphabetically by the name of the pueblo when this could be learned from the card, and then alphabetically by subject for the miscellaneous category. Box 4 contains miscellaneous postcards dealing with Native Americans, where no tribe, state, or country was evident from the card. These are arranged alphabetically by subject. Box 4 also holds postcards from other parts of the world (Africa, Asia, Europe, Mexico). Box 5 contains 35mm slides from the Museum of Man collection which document native and aboriginal lifeways, technologies, clothing, artwork, and religious traditions.

Postcards in Box 3 are arranged in two sections: Navajo and Pueblo. Navajo cards are arranged alphabetically by subject. Pueblo cards in folders 10-27 are arranged by the name of the specific pueblo, if known; then in folders 28-36, where no specific pueblo is evident from the card, by subject.

These 35mm slides were commercially produced by the Museum of Man (location unknown). In Folder 1 is a handwritten list of some of the slides which describes them according to a system wherein individual slides are stamped "1_A1, 1_A2," and so on. However, the list is incomplete, giving only 108 descriptions, when there are 296 slides. No other descriptions are available for the slides.
