Biographical Note
Neil Meitzler (1930-2009), was a painter in the Pacific Northwest (based in the Skagit Valley and Seattle) for about 25 years. He served on the staff of the Seattle Art Museum for many years as exhibit designer. He spent the end of his life in Walla Walla, Washington.

Correspondence, photos, sketchbooks, scrapbook, resumes, sales records, tape-recorded interviews (with transcripts), and other papers, relating to Meitzler's career as a painter in Seattle and the Skagit Valley, Wash.

Scope and Content: Tape-recorded interview done for KING-FM radio, "Conversation with an artist" series by Curt Green; transcript; resume. The artist discusses his recent travels and resulting painting, communication in painting, reason for collecting, government support of the artist and the numerous style changes in his own work.
